“We are extremely excited to have Precision operating on our railroad. I have known their team for many years, and have tremendous respect for their commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and customer service,” said Frank Prentiss, VP of Sales and Marketing for Delta Southern.

The potential increase to transportation efficiencies spans across all modes of transportation making this an attractive opportunity,” said Ray Nixon, President of Precision Terminal of Logistics.

Strategically increasing multi-modal transport infrastructure opportunities in the region not only aids trade expansion it is also attractive to industries looking to develop in the region making it a win-win for all parties, according to Nixon.

“It is my pleasure to help bring business back to the once booming town of Sondheimer, Louisiana,” said local landowner and businessman Chip Sullivan of BLP Trucking. “I look forward to working alongside Delta Southern Railroad and Precision Terminal Logistics. I am confident this partnership will be beneficial to our local and regional economy.”

Like Sullivan, Delta Southern Railroad is keen to invest in the communities their customers and employees call home. According to the company’s website, it is through exploration of prospects like this that they strive to not only expand business but change the way their customers move business.

“The addition of this location will offer customers a strategic point of import and export of products into the global market with direct connection to Kansas City Southern on the Meridian Speedway and other rail connections,” said Jon Ryan, CEO of Delta Southern.

“Additionally, the proposed merger of KCS and Canadian Pacific will allow customers single-system access to Canada and Mexico once it leaves our line. Delta Southern aims to bring global reach to our communities and industries of Northern Louisiana, and now our customers will have the opportunity for more efficient rail service to international ports, whether it be Lazaro Cardenas in Mexico or the Port of Vancouver in Canada,” Ryan added.

In addition to a broader reach of service for customers, Delta Southern anticipates the new transload site will present employment opportunities in the local communities, Tallulah, and Lake Providence, as well as provide an economic boost to the region.
